- What have you learnt about the customer and comparative shopping?
I’ve learnt that the customer is the most important part of any design and business. Designing to the needs of a particular customer segment is crucial for any fashion product or service because it is almost impossible to create something for everyone as taste is subjective. Comparative shopping helps in understanding what market the product was meant for and how that certain brand appeals to a customer segment.
- How did you go selecting information for your customer segment?
I started off by choosing a customer from the street style task that best suited my liking. Upon looking at that picture and some information the customer had given me, I analyzed and picked apart their everyday life (likes, hobbies, age range, gender etc.). This led me to collect pictures for the internet based on that to create a mood-board.
- What went well? What needs improvement?
I was able to find a definitive customer segment I would need to design for in this class. I need to improve on my mood-board and psychographic of my customer based off my feedback by the tutor. I was very vague with my profile and I need to give more detail to my customer segment.
